TV reporter Angelina Vidal (Carpenter) & her cameraman (Harris) have been assigned to spent time at a Los Angeles fire station. They follow the firemen to a routine 911 call to a small apartment block. Police officers have already arrived in response to agonising screams coming from one of the apartments. They soon realise that a woman living in the building has been infected by an unknown condition. The situation deteriorates rapidly and they become trapped.
